Cakes by Theresa is committed to bringing baking to the next level by combining Grandma’s way of baking with modern styles. All our cakes are baked from scratch using the finest ingredients that are locally sourced where possible. All our products are made in a kitchen that handles nuts, gluten, dairy, egg and soya. However, vegan, gluten free, diabetic and organic options are also available on request.
Cake tastings are mainly for wedding cakes and by appointments only. We ask that you specify the types of cakes you would like to taste for your special day. If you have any questions, please contact us.
When collecting cakes, please carry your order with the utmost care. Bags and boxes must be held upright and levelled at all times to avoid decorations from falling off a cake or a cupcake from toppling over. Please refrain from holding more than one bag in one hand as this will make the cakes tilt and slide towards the side of the cake box. Cakes by Theresa cannot be held liable for damaged items once they have been handed over to the customer. If transporting by car, place them onto a level, non-slip surface and avoid bumpy roads. Also note that during severe or inclement weather conditions such as snow or floods, we may be unable to deliver your cake as these conditions may be hazardous or make your venue inaccessible. Wedding cakes will be personally delivered to your venue for assembling.
Shelf Life & Storage
After leaving the premises, please transfer your fresh cakes into the fridge as soon as possible and keep them away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Remove cupcakes from the fridge 30 minutes before consumption, and layered cakes 1 hours in advance.
Cakes with buttercream will last up to 10 days
Cakes with cream cheese will last up to 3 days
Cakes with fresh cream will last up to 2 days
To confirm an order, a non-refundable deposit of 50% is required 1 month before your event. The balance on the cake is due 2 weeks before delivery and payment can be made by bank transfer or paypal.
Damages/Cancellation & Refund
We will always do our best to prepare, pack and deliver your cake/s with the utmost care. Nevertheless, accidents can happen and so we ask that you check your order before you leave. In the unlikely event that your order is damaged in our care, please let us know as soon as possible.
Cakes by Theresa understands that there are genuine reasons for a cancellation. If your reason/s are found to be genuine after a deposit is made, your deposit will then be refunded within 5 working days. If your order is cancelled for reasons we assessed to be invaluable before your event, the 50% deposit will not be refunded.
To claim a refund in the event that the cake is damaged after leaving our kitchen, Cakes by Theresa ask that you return the cake to us for an inspection or provide photographic evidence. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer any refunds without the requested evidence and proof of purchase. Please note that we can only credit a refund to the card used to purchase the cake.
You can alter the design of your cake up to 1 week before the collection or delivery date. We will do our best to keep the prices the same. It may be difficult to change a design based on your request. However, any increase in cost that may arise from the alteration will be charged accordingly.
Cakes decorated with flowers
If your cake requires fresh flowers, your florist will supply the flowers to ensure it matches the rest of your decor. We will liaise with your florist to ensure a perfect finish. Please note that some treatments used on flowers and some flowers are toxic and it remains your florist responsibility to ensure these are not used on your cake. Ask your florist for details regarding toxicity. We cannot be liable for any contamination to our food product that may arise from their misuse.
